​A1

grade 2/3 to grade 4
After completing the A1 level you will have acquired very basic language skills. The A1 test is normally written in grade 4.


A2

 grade 5 to 7/8 or 9
After completing the A2 level you will be able to communicate about simple routine situations and exchange information on familiar matters. ​The A2 test is normally written in grade 7 or 8.


DSD I 

​ grade 8 and higher, pre-requisite A2​
After completing DSD I you will be able to produce simple connected texts about familiar interest areas. The exam provides proof of the required language skills needed to enroll in a preparatory college (Studienkolleg) in Germany. The DSD I (B1 level) is normally written in grade 9.


DSD II

grade 9-12 , pre-requisite DSD I 
After completing DSD II you can understand complex texts about abstract topics and can express yourself fluently and spontaneously. The exam provides proof of the required language skills needed to enroll in institutions of higher education (University) in Germany. The DSD II (B2 or C1 level) is normally written in grade 12.

CHOIR

We organize a very successful German choir throughout the school year for school-aged children with various possibilities to perform. In the past we have been on the stage at the Christkindlmarket in Kitchener, cheered up residents at various senior care homes in Waterloo Region and won Gold and the prestigious "Ruth Priddle Memorial Trophy" at the Kiwanis Music Festival 2021 and 2022, which was held online due to Covid-19. The choir also placed first at provincials. This year, the students participated in the first in person festival since 2019 and placed 1st again.
